Juanita JoAnn Potter

Juanita Joann Potter, age 86, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Mountain City Care and Rehab. Center. Juanita was born on March 8, 1936 in Ashe County, NC to the late John and Ollie Potter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Poston and brother, Edward Potter. Juanita was always full of energy and loved life. She enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and singing with her family. She also loved to dance, being around people, and was an animal lover, especially dogs. Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Louise (Tammy) Cunningham; son, Henry Neely; sisters, Shirley Reece, Josie Barnwell, Denna Gillispie; brothers, Roger Potter, Francis Potter; grandchildren, Dakota Neely, Austin Neely; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Steven Spencer officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow the funeral at Stateline Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Potter, Troy Potter, Tommy Potter, Austin Neely, and Dakota Neely.
