Joyce Walker

Joyce Walker, age 82, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2026 in Abingdon, Va. Joyce was born April 25, 1943 in Johnson County, TN to the late Dallas Fletcher and Beulah Kate Laws Fletcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan J. (N.J.) Walker; son, Timmy Nolan Walker; son-in-law, Rick Smith; sisters, Christine Wagner and Edna Garland.

Joyce truly valued her family, church and friends. She was a member of Harmon Chapel Christian Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Connie Smith; two grandchildren, Ashley Toseland (Michael) and Jason Smith; two great grandchildren, Walker Cannon and Railynn Cannon; four nieces, Laura Seastrum, Shannon Berry, Dawne Minks, and Melissa McClain; nephew, Charlie Speer; several cousins; special friend, Jack Hutchins.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Harmon Chapel Christian Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Minister Randall Johnson officiating. The burial will follow at Shady Valley Memorial Gardens also known as Gentry Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Sluder, Kenny Sluder, Kyle Sluder, Wayne Eller, Dillon Long and Silas Averill. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Eller and the membership of Harmon Chapel Christian Church.
