Josephine Wallace

Josephine Wallace, age 85, passed away January 6, 2024. Josephine was born September 19, 1938 to the late Denver and Lealer Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Wallace; son, Kenneth Wallace; sisters, Mary Ann Brown, Margarene Greer; brothers, Thurman Lewis, and Donlley Lewis.

Josephine was a dedicated Christian and a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she loved her church family. Josephine retired from Levi’s after many years of employment. She enjoyed working in her flowers, family get-togethers and taking trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway. She also liked volunteering to deliver meals and adored spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Carol Wallace Greene and husband Ritchie; son, Bobby Joe Wallace and fianceé Heather Maze; brother, Vonlley Lewis and wife Annie; grandchildren, Derrick Arnold and Nikki Arnold, Justin Arnold, Paige Phillippi; step-grandchildren, Sandy Eggers and fiancé Jeffery Wilcox, Heather Gillum and husband Zack, Vaughn Greene; step great-grandchildren, Emily, Carson Eggers, Samuel Gillium, Phillip Gillium; step great-great-grandchild, Weston Hodge; special friend, Jeanette Love; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastors Mike Fenner and Ted Lewis officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow the funeral at the Lewis Cemetery on Pine Mountain Rd. Pallbearers will be Tony Norris, Terry Stout, Jamie McElyea, Eric Roark, Justin Arnold, Derrick Arnold, and Dennis Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Love, Edwin Greene, Stacy Williams, Jamie Lewis, Donnie Lewis, and Little Stacy Williams.
