Joe William Lewis

Joe William Lewis, age 81, of Mountain City, TN; passed away on Sunday August 11, 2024 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Joe was born on May 25, 1943 in Johnson County, TN to the late Asa Lewis and Vica Arnold Lewis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances June Lewis, brother, Russell Lewis, daughter, Kimberley Widener, grandson, Corey Johnson, Infant brother, two brothers-in-law, Carl Stout and Jack McCoy.

Joe was known by many through the years from his 37 years at Watauga Ready Mix/Chandler concrete.

Those left to cherish his memories include daughter, Lara Johnson; two sisters, Julie Mae Stout and Kate McCoy, brother, Jake Lewis and wife Arlene; sister-in-law, Lucy Lewis; grandchildren, Chris Cannet, Ashley Johnson, Courtney Cannet, T.J. Patterson, Adam Johnson, Josh Widener; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Kayla, Alarik, Aiden, Connor, Serenity and C.J.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Josh Giddings officiating. The graveside service and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Dunn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Lewis, Asa Lewis, Isaac Lewis, Robert Stout, Brian Hamm, and Dylan Nichols. Honorary pallbearers are Barton Hall, Wilbur Townsend, Cleve Piercy, Ted Green, Bob Mink, Travis Lewis, Carl Stout, Gary Stout, Walter Burl Simcox, and Mark Lewis.

Family and friends may visit at the home of his brother, Jake Lewis 4029 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
