Joan A Blevins

Joan A. Blevins, age 83, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.  She was born on August 19, 1935 to the late Charles and Elizabeth Young.  In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by sister, Ethel Young; brothers, Charles, Tommy, Skip, Louie, Joe and George Young and a grandson, Ronnie Blevins.

Joan was a gifted sewer and could make anything.  She was also a wonderful cook.  She would always bake all her sons favorite cakes for their birthdays.  She had her special bird feeders on the porch and she loved filling them and sitting on the porch watching the birds come and go.  Joan also loved flowers, especially roses.  Each spring and summer she would always plant a variety of them in her flower gardens and around the house.

She was a member of the Appalachian Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 63 years Bobby Blevins; sons, Ronnie J. Blevins and wife Joyce, George Blevins and Douglas Blevins and wife Diane; sisters, Mae Dudas, Helen Eichert, Mary Francaviglia; brother, Leo Young; grandchildren, January Fleet, Tabitha Seal, Jessica Blevins, Robin Blevins, Kenneth Blevins, Michael Blevins, Christopher Blevins; great grandchildren, Valerie Parker, Andrew Seal, Nora Parker, Lainey Seal, Gracie Fleet, Jonathan Blevins, Allison Fleet, Clara Williams and Logan Touchstone, and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Shady Valley Church of Christ.  Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Eddy Craft to officiate.  Special music will be provided by Kevin Cretsinger. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Blevins Cemetery. Pallbearers are Perry Blevins, Keenan Blevins, Christopher Blevins, Eric Reeves, Scott Robinson, and David McQueen.  Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Seal, Butch Drummond, and Kevin Fleet.
