Joseph “Jack” Ennis Osborne, age 91 of Creston, NC passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Jack was born December 23, 1932 in Creston, NC to the late Ottis Tracy Osborne and Virginia “Gail” McCoy Osborne Price. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Holloway Osborne; grandson, Jayson Osborne; sister, Mary Eller; and brother, Mack Osborne.
Jack was a graduate of Riverview High School in 1952. He was employed by Roseburg Lumber Company in Dillard, Oregon for 43 years. In his early years Jack enjoyed his cars and being a stock car racing driver. In later years he enjoyed his horses, goats, planting flowers, working jigsaw puzzles, going for drives and reminiscing about the past and the homes and families along the way.
Jack is survived by his wife, Betty; aunt, JoAnne Owens; sisters, Bobby Jones and Hazel Walker; children, Rex Osborne and wife Tracy, Dorna Gaylord and husband Guy, and Jay Osborne and wife Cindy; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with J.B. Shelton officiating. A private burial will be held.
