Janette Trivette, age 78, passed away July 22, 2026 at her home. She was born January 31, 1948 in Mountain City, TN, to the late Armer Burl and Monnie Arnold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Trivette; brothers, Vernon Arnold, Kenneth Arnold and infant sister, Juanita Arnold.
Janette was a mama to everyone from her younger sister, her own children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and to every child around. However, with her great nephew, T.J., she acquired the name “Mama Net.” From that point on she was known as Mama Net. She was always there to lend a helping hand, a word of advice and direction if you wanted to hear it or not. She had a big heart and loved her family greatly. Janette was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She was especially known for her Christmas candies which she shared with all of her friends, family, and acquaintances. She was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Dawn Woodring and husband, Charlie of Boone, NC; sons, Leonard Trivette, Robert Trivette of Zionville, NC; sister, Diane Arnold Miller and husband, Lester of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren, Benjamin Woodring of Boone, NC, A.J. Ugenti of Clemmons, NC, Ella Ugenti of Lenoir, NC; nephew, T.J. Corum who was like a son; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and her dear neighbors, Evelyn and Henry Howell who became like her children.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Lane Roark officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow at Zionville Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Miller, Brayden Miller, Gray Hargus, Henry Howell, Jody Corum and George Trivette. Honorary pallbearers are T.J. Corum, Gene Potter and Dean Roark.
