James R. "Jim" Hankal

James R. “Jim” Hankal, 86, went to be with the Lord at NHC Johnson City, TN on Saturday, August 10, 2024. He was a resident of Washington County, TN. As a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, he served in many capacities.

He was proceeded in death by parents, his wife of fifty-three years, Wanda, three sisters, and three brothers.

He is survived by his son, David Hankal and wife Karen; Brother that was like a son, Larry Hankal and wife Mary Ellen; granddaughters Amanda Hankal, Ashley Sparks and husband Eric; great granddaughter Kaylee Yesker; several nieces and nephews: special friends Linda Walters: Mountain View Baptist Church Adult Sunday School class and neighbors.

Many thanks to Johnson City Medical Center 2900 and 5300 staff as well as NHC station 4 for the care you all took of Jim.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church, Johnson City. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor James Cameron and Rich Murry officiating.

Jim will be laid to rest beside his wife on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Washington County Memory Gardens. Friends and family will meet at Tetrick Funeral Services at 10:00 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
