James "Jim" Greer

James “Jim” Greer, age 80, passed away August 19, 2025 at his home. Jim was born August 15, 1945 to the late Glenn and Ida Greer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Greer; sister, Betty Lunceford and brothers, Lloyd Greer and Daniel “DG” Greer.

Jim was a much loved dad and husband who always provided for his family. He and his late wife, Betty, enjoyed 53 years of marriage and raised 3 children. He was a faithful Christian and a member of Rock Springs Church of Christ. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandkids and great grandkids. He enjoyed fishing, Nascar and was an avid TN Vols fan.

Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter, Melissa Price and husband Chris; sons, Kenny Greer and wife Elizabeth, Jamie Greer; sisters, Linda Price, Polly McQueen; brother, Paul Greer; grandchildren, Tabitha Price, Tiffany Greer, Heather Harden, Brittany Keller, Brandy Greer; great grandchildren, Kahli, Christian, Gabriel, Meredith; special friend, Belinda Greer and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The graveside service and burial will follow at Phillippi Cemetery with Buddy Morefield officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenny Greer, Chris Price, Jeff Greer, Danny Greer, Shawn Price, and Brian Kidd.
