Jahala Thomason, age 62, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went on to be with the Lord Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born July 13, 1956 in Watauga County, NC.                      

 

Jahala enjoyed her yearly vacation to the Outer Banks in North Carolina with her family and to go on the Gospel Cruise called singing at sea each year. She was a teacher’s assistant for many years at Mountain City Elementary School and loved the school kids and the teachers. Most of all she loved her family and being with them. Jahala was Nana J. to Violet and Everett. She will truly be missed by all.

 

She was a member of Central Baptist Church.

 

Those left to cherish her memories included her husband of 40 years, Rick Thomason, sons and daughters-in laws, Jonathan Thomason and wife Shawna of Elizabethton, TN, Josh Thomason and wife Leticia of Mountain City, TN, two grandchildren, Violet Elaine Thomason and Everett Samuel Thomason, mother, Ilene Wilcox Cuddy, sisters, Pam Icenhour and husband Billy Ray, Angela Hawkins, Robin Greene and husband Chris all of Mountain City, TN and Toby Riley and husband Thomas of OH, brothers, Tony Nelson and wife Barbara of New York and Scott Wilcox and wife Maxi of Mountain City, TN, mother-in-law, Dorothy Akard,  sisters-in-laws, Susie Carter and Cindy Hines and husband Denley, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles also survive.

 

The family will receive friends on Monday July 15, 2019 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Thomason, Brother Frank Woods and Brother Ray Branch officiating. Graveside service and burial will be Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from Reece Memorial Cemetery (Liberty Church Rd.) with Brother Mike Penley to officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Wilson, Travis Holt, Jonathan Bauguess, Faron Greene, Richard Calhoun and Brad Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Arnold., Blake Fenner and men of Central Baptist Church.

 

At other times the family will receive friends at the home 333 Rhea Rd., Mountain City, TN 37683.
