Howard Raymond Brown

Howard Raymond Brown, age 86, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Mountain City Care Center.  He was born on May 28, 1932 to the late Elzie and Ethel Payne Brown.  In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by a sister, Mae South and brothers, John Brown, Albert Brown and Burl Brown.

Howard was a proud farmer.  He loved being a farmer and took great pride in his work.  He was a member of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #243 F&AM for over 60 years.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 59  years, Bessie Brown; son, Charles ‘Charlie’ Brown of Mountain City; sister, Faye Greer; grandson, Jason Brown & wife Deena; great grandson, Cohen Brown, all of Mountain City and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Calvary Baptist Church.  Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Steven Spencer and Pastor Frank Woods officiating.  Graveside service and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park where Masonic Services will also be held by the Taylorville Masonic Lodge.  Pallbearers will be Jason Brown, Mike Treadway, James Brown, Chris Brown, Rick Curd and Bud Gentry.  Honorary pallbearers are Bill Adams, Buddy Osborne, Jim Lewis, Edgar Lewis, Donald Lewis, Eddie Lewis, Brian Lewis and Howard’s many friends at Calvary Baptist.

The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff at Mountain City Care Center for their kindness and loving care.

At other times the family will receive friends at the home 885 Jenkins Hollow Road, Mountain City, TN.
