Gregory Hooper

It is with deep sorrow and faith in God's promises that we announce the passing of Gregory Nelson Hooper , 58, of Claremont, NC, who was called home to be with the Lord on March 22, 2026. Greg was born on January 22,1968 in Newport, RI, to Crawford Ray Hooper and Emily Christine Hooper.

He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Patsy Pennington Coffey Hooper and his father, Crawford Ray Hooper.

Those left to cherish Greg’s memory are his wife: Audrey Lee Hooper, children: Jeffery Scott Coffey, Carry Marie Coffey (Fred), grandchild: Emma Rose Coffey, stepchildren: Stormy Lee McMinn (Lucas) and Nova Rain Richardson siblings: Talmage Mark Hooper (Carrieann), Christopher Erik Hooper (Jane) and many nephews and nieces.

Throughout his life, Greg was a devoted servant of God, finding strength in his Christian faith.

Greg was known for his kindness, compassion, and unwavering belief in God's grace. He always sought to share the love of Christ with everyone he met, and his legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A funeral service to celebrate Greg’s life will be held at Mountain City Funeral Home on April 12th at 2:00pm. The service will be followed by a burial at Blevins Cemetery.

We take comfort in knowing that Greg is now resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that we will be reunited one day in His eternal Kingdom.

May Greg’s soul rest in peace, and may God bless all who mourn him during this difficult time.
