Gaylon N. Taylor, formerly of Laurel Bloomery, joined his beloved wife, Susan Taylor, on January 18, 2024 following an extended illness. Mr. Taylor was a former member of the 776 Maintenance Co. and he served his country during the Persian Gulf War. He was also a member of Taylorsville Masonic Lodge and Maple Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. In addition, he also was a member of the Jerico Shriners and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.

He is survived by his three children, Nathan Taylor, (Greenville, TN), Lucinda Snyder (Waynesville, MO) and Travis Taylor (Waynesville, MO); two grandchildren, Carson Taylor (Johnson City, TN) and Maylee Snyder (Waynesville, MO) as well as his special canine companion, Chewbacca.

Mr. Taylor requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to his favorite charities he supported throughout his life: Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

This obituary is posted as a courtesy to the Taylor family, Mountain City Funeral Home is not handling any services.
