Gary Ray Phipps

Gary Ray Phipps, age 61 of Lansing, NC, passed away on January 27, 2023. Gary was born in Jefferson, NC on March 1, 1961 to the late Bethel Elmer Phipps and Hazel Bennett Phipps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Eddie Phipps and sister, Linda Phipps, both of Lansing, NC. Gary was a member of the National Guard from 1979-1985. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking care of his animals. Gary is survived by one son, Joey Phipps of Creston, NC; four grandchildren, Levi Phipps, Sidney Phipps, Autumn Phipps, and Grayson Phipps; four brothers, Elmer Phipps and wife Mary of Jefferson, NC, Randall Phipps of Lansing, Dewie Phipps and wife Kerri of Morganton, NC, and Jeff Phipps and wife Diane of Purlear, NC; many nieces and nephews. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
