Frederick Isabella

As the world was being frightened by Orson Wells’ The War of the Worlds, Frederick Louis Isabella made his way into the world by his parents, Sebastian C and Joanna C Isabella. It was October 31, 1938. He passed away from this world to his eternal reward on February 10, 2023.

In 1956 Fred joined the Air Force where he remained until his father’s death in 1959. He married Mary Louise Tarker May 14, 1960 and had 6 children.

He worked at various jobs including school bus driver, steel worker, vending machine operator, postal employee, where he rose to be Supervisor of Postal Operations, then Delivery and Collection Supervisor and finally a Postmaster of West Newton and then Aliquippa. He had a bicycle shop and locksmith business, while doing his other jobs. He also had a dental lab with his son, Daniel, in Greensburg. He was a Eucharistic minister, visited the sick and was a lector at St. Titus and St. Catherine parishes, and named man of the year by the Holy Name Society in Beaver County. Fred had a deep devotion to Our Lady, prayed the rosary every day and made rosaries that he sent to others who needed Our Lady’s intercession.

He was also an active member of the Lions, then governor three separate times, where he took part in international activities. Fred served as various officers then President of Universal Lodge #70 and had been a delegate to several ISDA conventions. He was a National Councilor and took part in several major actions in the ISDA.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Tarker); his children: Joseph (Rose), Marie Isabella Stoneback (Norman), Vincent (Dawn), Louis (Evelyn), Beth Isabella Lewis; daughter-in-law, Kelly Isabella; sister, Mary Margaret; 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Daniel, and his grandsons Nathaniel and Christopher. The funeral mass honoring

Frederick will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Boone, NC. There will be a memorial service and blessing at Tatalovich Funeral Home in Aliquippa, PA on 2/23/2023 from 4-6 pm and he will be laid to rest on 2/24 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA. Pallbearers will be Joe Isabella, Vincent Isabella, Lou Isabella, Aiden Isabella, Kyle Isabella, and Lorenzo Lewis.
