Ernest B. Warren, age 97 of the Rainbow Community passed away on Sunday morning, April 27, 2025 at his home. Ernest was born on January 16, 1928, in Johnson County, TN to the late William Luther Warren and Clara Crowder Warren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Ella Mock Warren, sister, Mildred Treadway, brothers, Edgar Warren, Glenn Warren, Raymond Warren, Claude Warren; grandson, Andrew David Shelton
Ernest was a United States Army Veteran. He was the owner and operator of Warren’s Repair Shop for 25 years, fixing cars and trucks of all kinds. He was also known in the area for radiator repair. Ernest loved people and for those that knew his best, he loved aggravating everybody. He was a member of Nelson Chapel Baptist Church.
Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lenna Ruth Warren on November 20 1993; daughter, Connie Phillips Wallace (Hillery); sister, Wilma Tester Hammons; grandchildren, Adam Daniel Shelton, Andrew Wallace, Jenna Wallace; sisters-in-law, Faye Warren, Judy Metcalf; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The graveside service and burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from Reece Memorial Cemetery with pastors, Mike McNutt and Bill Worley officiating. Pallbearers are Melvin Humphrey, Shane Humphrey, Aaron Osborne, Ricky Mericle, Mike White and Robert Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Tester, Mark Tester, Scott Tester, Willis Lewis, Keith Wilson, Mike Treadway, Dominic Metcalf, Jeff Metcalf, Burgess Metcalf, and the Men’s Sunday School Class of Nelson Chapel. Military Honors will be accorded by Johnson County Honor Guard.
