Ernest James Roark, age 57, passed away on April 2, 2023 at Johnson City Medical Center. Ernest was born on July 28, 1965 to the late Ernest James Roark Sr. and Laurie Key. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Judy L. Roark. 

Ernest was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed reading his Bible, going to thrift stores and yard sales, traveling, and vacations. He also adored special moments and time with family and close friends. He was a veteran who served active in the US Army for 5 years, 1984 – 1989, and obtained the ranking of SP4 before his discharge. He also attended Faith Gospel Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his sons, Jonathan Arnold, Tommy Lunceford, Clifford Lunceford; daughter, Tammy Stanley; grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Dylan, Devin, Zachary, Alex, Destiny, Jacqueline, Judith, and several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Johnson Cemetery (Fall Branch Road) with Pastor Berrey Dunn officiating and eulogy by Jonathan Arnold. Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.

The family of Ernest James Roark has entrusted his services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S. Church Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
