Erick 'Beard' Allen Edwards

Erick Allen ‘Beard’ Edwards, age 34, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  He was born on July 30, 1984 in McComb County, Michigan, son of Ricky L. Edwards and Ann Meadows Roark.  Erick was preceded in death by a brother, Brandon McCoy; maternal grandmother, Verna Meadows and paternal great grandparents, Sam and Ruth Taylor.

Erick loved working with his hands and had worked in carpentry, asphalt and logging through the years.  He was a gifted artist and enjoyed painting, drawing and working with wood.  Erick enjoyed being outdoors and really liked riding motorcycles.  He loved a good mind challenge and could solve any problem, big or small.

Family and close friends knew him simply as ‘Beard’.  He was kind-hearted, caring and loving and will be missed so much.  Beard would want you to celebrate his life and remember all the wonderful memories you have with him.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Angie Fletcher Edwards, of the home and her parents, Bob and Geraldine Fletcher of Butler, TN; father, Ricky Edwards and fiancé Terri of Blackwater, VA; mother, Ann Roark and husband James of Gate City, VA; best friend and brother, Ricky Ray Edwards and wife Deborah of Mountain City, TN; sister, Lacey Duckett; brothers, Paul Duckett, Shaun Duckett, Jesse McCoy and BJ Dowell; paternal grandparents, Charles and Betty Edwards; aunt, Teresa Hickman and husband Dave; uncle, Dennis Edwards and wife Teresa, all of Church Hill, TN; several special nieces and nephews, several more aunts, uncles and cousins and many special friends. 

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel.  A Celebration of Life Service will follow with Pastor Daniel Jones officiating.  Graveside service and interment will follow at the Fletcher Family Cemetery.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
