Elbert Jorden Cable

Elbert Jorden Cable age 85, of Butler, TN passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on March 25, 1934, in Butler, TN, to the late H.C. “Bill” Cable and Pauline Lunsford Cable.  In addition to his parents, Elbert was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Stanbery.   Elbert retired from Summer and Taylor Construction after many years of service. He had a special love for his family and dog, Little Bit. As everyone knew, Raymond Campbell was a very special friend to him.   Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Nancy “JoAnn” Cable; son, James Cable; daughters, Lisa Dugger and husband Jerry, Barbara Reece and husband Robert; grandchildren, Amanda Fagan and husband Eric, Brandy Curtis and husband Brian, Nicole Bowers and husband Ty, Kayla Arnold and husband Doug, Shawna Shaver, Tasha Avery, Tiffany Ellis, Chris Ellis, David Guy; sisters, Ida Lee Arney, Lena Arney and husband Glenn; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.   The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Mountain City Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service following at 7:00, with Pastor Richard Jones officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Crosswhite Cemetery, Buntontown Rd. Pallbearers will be Brian Curtis, Eric Fagan, Doug Arnold, Dylan Arnold, Michael Walsh, Ty Bowers and Dalton Bowers. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Campbell, Anthony Smith and Bill Tetrick.   The family will receive friends at the home, 3453 Buntontown Rd, Butler, TN 37640.   The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Home Health Care and nurse, Tessie Gregory.   Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com   The family of Elbert J.
