Dreama Hicks

Dreama Elizabeth Stump Hicks, Daughter, Wife, Mother, Friend, age 81, of Mountain City, TN, went to be with her heavenly father and family on Wednesday evening, November 19, 2025 at her home. She was born June 2, 1944 in Roanoke, VA. After marrying she moved to Mountain City to raise her family. Dreama loved embroidering pillow cases and quilt squares. She enjoyed all holidays and loved cooking for her babies. She had a special kind heart and had love for everyone. Dreama was preceded in death by her father William (Kevey) Stump and mother May Stump Duncan and her step pop, Carl Duncan; the love of her life and father of her children, Howard Junior Hicks; brothers, Charles (C.W.) Stump and Noah Stump; one infant sister, Drucella Stump and sister, Evelyn (Sissie) Stump Caldwell. Dreama would like her family and friends to celebrate her life. This is not goodbye, just “see you later”.

Survivors include her children, Tammy Hicks, Sirena Hicks (Eddie), Wayne “Bucky” Hicks, Robin Hicks, and Shane Mabe (best friends for life, the key to her heart); grandchildren, Uvette Kimberlin, Cody Pierce, and Noah Carroll; great-grandchildren, Skylar Dowell, Laura K., Makaela Shane Mabe, Bentley Carroll, Ellie Mae Carroll; sisters, Valarie Owens of Bedford, VA and Gayneil Stump of Roanoke, VA; nieces, Melisa Owens of Bedford, VA, Monica Wilson of Glade Hill, VA, and Nita Caldwell of Roanoke, VA; special niece, Patricia “Sis, Peckerhead” Dunn; one lifelong friend who is like a sister, Norma Reynolds of Moneta, VA; special sisters-in-law, Hazel Fritts, Ruby McGinnis, and Rosie Allie; special friends, Tasha Hutchins, Berry Dunn, Jenny Berry, Linda May Williams, Nancy Campbell, Belinda, Jerry Lee, Lorraine, Jim and Betty McGinnis, Helen and Ed Morefield, Jamie and Rob Greeson.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastors Berry Dunn, Ted Lewis, and Thomas Hutchins officiating. Dreama will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, VA.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Home Health, Haley, Shawna, Stephanie Barry, Sherry, and all Dreama’s caretakers over the years.

Sirena would like to give a special thank you for helping our mother with trigeminal neuralgia to Dr. Bo Westmoreland and Madison, she loved you both dearly.
