Dorothy Lee Wallace, age 85, passed away on November 8, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center. Dorothy was born on March 7, 1936 in Shady Valley to the late Dana and Ada Main. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Roy Edmond Wallace; sisters, Velma Blevins, Ruth Wallace; brothers, Delmer Main, Eugene Mitton, Jimmy Hodgson; two grandsons and one great grandson. Dorothy was a very sweet and loving person who was always happy. She loved her family and her children and always looked forward to family gatherings. She was Granny to everyone, even ones not related to her. She loved to read the Bible, listen to gospel music and singing hymns. She enjoyed gardening and yellow roses were her favorite. She was a member of Shady Valley Church of Christ. Survivors include her 14 children, daughters, Kathy Church (Marion), Patsy Main, Tammy Alexander (Osler), Marlene Wade (Don), Christine Wright (Glen), Hope Jenkins, Leslie Hall (Kenny), Susan Wallace (Larry), Amy Silcox; sons, Larry Wallace, Randy Wallace, Charles Wallace (Brenda), Tracy Wallace, Joey Wallace; sister, Mary Main; sister-in-law, Shirley Main; 37 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Minister Randall Johnson and Mark Church officiating. The graveside service and burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Bill Hill Cemetery in Shady Valley. Pallbearers will be David Sluder, Billy Wallace, Johnathon Alexander, Patrick Wallace, Aaron Sluder, Andrew Baumgardner, Anthony Baumgardner, and Tyler Hall. Honorary pallbearers are Magetty Greer, Daniel Koen, Jim Sherman, Brandon Main, and Ray Howard. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Kathy Church, 341 Conville Lane, Unit 2, Mountain City, TN 37683. The family would like to thank her home health nurse, Stacy, for being such a good nurse and friend to their mother.
