Dorothy Miller

Dorothy Pearl Miller, age 89, of Mountain City, TN passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Dorothy was born on March 6, 1933 in Johnson County, Shouns, TN; to the late Lily B. Reece Johnson. In addition to her mother, Lily, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son: Micheal Edward Miller, brothers: Oscar, Bruce, Sam, Earl, and Conley Johnson, sisters: Ruth Main, Irene Dunn, Hettie Chafin, Hattie Johnson and Betty Johnson. She was a devoted Christian, starting her faith in 1941. She was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was the most important thing to her besides her faith. She married the love of her life February 1, 1954 and proceeded to raise the next generation with an amazing love of family and God. She was always available for her family when they needed her in spite of many health problems. Hobbies included quilting, photography, poem and song writing. One of her photographs is displayed at Michigan State University. Survived by her Husband of 68 years: Alfred Miller, sons: Richard and Ronnie Miller. daughter, Darlene Dunlap and son in law Dale Dunlap. grandchildren: Michael and Erin Johnson, Kevin and Beth Johnson, David Johnson, Tim and Jordon Miller, Ashley Miller, Richard Shane Miller; great grandchildren: Ian, Eligah, Arian, Zoey, Maxwell, Brody, Ryanne, Charliegh, Emmanuel, Gabrielle, Elisha, Esaias, Brantley, Kayla, Emma, Ariel, and a baby boy on the way. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Honorary mention Donna Miller. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 25, 2022 from the funeral home with Mike McNutt and Sam Icenhour officiating. Graveside service and burial will follow from the Lily B. Reece Johnson Cemetery, (Sam Johnson Ln. Mountain City, TN). Pallbearers will be, Michael Johnson, Scott Johnson, David Johnson, Tim Miller, Elisha Johnson, Ian Miller. Honorary pallbearers are, Shane Miller, Brantley Johnson. The family will be at the home 318 Sam Johnson Ln., Mountain City, TN 37683.
