Debbie Roark, age 70, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 at her home with her husband by her side. She was born April 20, 1955 to the late John and Shirley Shelton. In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her sister, Kimberly Shelton; brothers, Johnny Shelton and Ricky Shelton; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Sally Roark.
Debbie loved spending time with her family, visits from her children and grandchildren brought her great joy. She liked flowers, reading books, and watching Westerns. Prior to being sick, Debbie loved having cook outs with her family, going camping on the New River, and just spending time sitting outside on the porch with her family. She always looked forward to springtime because she knew she would soon be getting to enjoy a fresh garden tomato. Debbie also enjoyed her weekly conversations with her nurses, Lora and Gail.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of almost 50 years, Robert Roark; daughter, Stephanie Reece and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Makala O’Brien, Casey Ham, Amberlynn Reece, and Shelby Reece; great-grandchildren, Dean Ham, Sawyer Ham, Izaias Reece, and Averly Ham; sisters, Tracie Shelton and Lesa Mast; brother, Jeff Shelton; several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Evergreen Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Potter officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow at the Roark Family Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lora and Gail from Amedysis and the Johnson County Rescue Squad for the loving care that they provided to her over the last few years.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, 875 Modock Road, Trade, TN 37691.
