David Wayne Swift

David Wayne Swift Sr., age 50, of Laurel Bloomery passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at his home. David was born on February 8, 1969 to the late Bobby Clyde Swift and Betty Sue Owens Roop in Abingdon, VA. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his step father, Freddie Roop and brother, Kevin Swift.   David will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also loved to spend time with his family and friends.   Those left to cherish his memories include his daughters, Ashley Taylor and Faith Swift; sons, Bret Owens and David Swift Jr.; sister, Sandy Garr; brother, Bobby Swift; four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.   The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Billy Morefield officiating. A graveside service and burial will follow the service at Cornett Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Deyton, Michael Roop, Ronnie Slagle, Bobby Swift, Danny Eastridge, Randy Garr and Brett Owens.
