David Lee Hawkins

David Lee Hawkins, age 59, of Mountain City, TN and originally of Laurel Bloomery, TN, passed away on Thursday April 20, 2023 at the Johnson City Medical Center. David was born on June 9, 1963, in Mountain City to Bonnie Forrester Hawkins and the late Lee Hawkins. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a special cousin, Terry Forrester.

David loved riding his motorcycle and 4-wheeler and enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith. He was a kind and caring person who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Donna Hawkins; step-children, Heidi Hockett (Jon) and Justin Rose (Jamie); sister, Pamela Powell; step-grandchildren, Kaydon, Camden, Reagan, Rylan, and Maverick; nephew, Matthew Pennington; and best friend, Randy Thomas.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Acre-Field Cemetery (Laurel Bloomery, TN 37680) with Pastor Tom Prater officiating. Pallbearers will be Jamie Thomas, Sam Thomas, Mike Eastridge, Justin Rose, Eric Taylor, and Kenny Icenhour. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Blevins, Terry Thomas, and Randy Garr.
