Darrell Snyder, age 91, of Creston, the Brushy Fork community passed away Wednesday, September 8. Mr. Snyder was employed as a welder at Triplett’s Garage and Boone Ironworks for 35 years as well as a long time tobacco farmer. Darrell was born July 5, 1930 to the late Rayburn and Ethel Snyder. In addition to his parent,s he was also preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Snyder, son Marlin Snyder, grandson Scotty Lambert, sisters Doll Parker and Betty Howard. Mr. Snyder is survived by two daughters: Lisa Lambert of West Jefferson, and Evelyn Howell (Phil) of Jefferson, Three grandchildren: Sarah Greer of West Jefferson, B.Phil Howell (Amanda) of Jefferson, and Angie Holman (Rex) of Millers Creek, as well as four great grandchildren, Adaline, Norah, Emma, and Dylan. Also surviving one sister Corena Snyder of Creston. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Snyder will be laid to rest Sunday, September 12th, at 2:00 p.m. with graveside service at the Snyder Cemetery on Brushy Fork Rd.
