Darrell Reece

Darrell Reece, age 62, of Trade, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 24, 2018.    He was born on January 15, 1956 to Beatrice ‘Bea’ Thomas Reece and the late Charles Fred Reece.  Darrell was known by many from his current job as Superintendent of the Johnson County Highway Department, where he had served one term and was recently re-elected for a second term.  He had also worked for Brown Brothers Construction and Town of Boone for many years.  He was known by family and close friends for his kindness and generosity.  He lived by the golden rule and always put others first and was always willing to help anyone in need.  His pride and joy was his grandchildren, who he loved spoiling and riding around on the 4-wheeler.       Darrell attended First Baptist Church of Mountain City. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 42 years, Judy Nelson Reece, his mother, Bea Reece, son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Rebecca Reece, sister-in-law, Joyce Cress and husband Robin, brother-in-law, Bobby Nelson and wife Judy, grandchildren and the loves of his life, Ethan Reece and Hailie Reece, special aunt, Wanda Wilson, several cousins, nieces and nephews, his co-workers and family at the Johnson County Highway Department and many more special and close friends, too numerous to name each of you. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastors JC Anderson and Ricky Campbell officiating.  Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Reece Memorial Cemetery (located on Liberty Church Road, Mtn. City, TN).  Pallbearers are Craig Lipford, Brian Vaught, Freddie Cornett, Ethan Arnold, Gary Reece and Neil Ragan.  Honorary pallbearers are Employees of the  Johnson County Highway Department  and Mike Wilson, Blake Brown, Tom Nelson, Robin Cress, Bob Nelson, Jack Warren, Dale Miller, Gale McGlamery, Jim Reece, Jeff Reece, Mike White, Dennis Henson, David Miller (Miller’s Farm Supply), Jack Cress, Mike Arnold, Tommy Rhymer and Cliff Story. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 2587 Bulldog Road, Trade, TN. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com. The family of Darrell Reece has entrusted his services to Mountain City Funeral Home located at 224 S. Church Street, Mountain City, TN.
