Darlene Louise Orndorff Darlene Louise Orndorff, age 54, passed away on July 13, 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center. Darlene was born in Welch, WV on February 19, 1968 to Gloria Taylor and the late Woodrow Orndorff. She was preceded in death by her loving daddy, Conley “Bud” Taylor who loved and raised her; brother, Woodrow Scott Orndorff II; granddaughter, Cassidy Williams; nephew, Joshua Dollar and soul mate, Johnny Shelton. Darlene has always been the life of the party; always wearing a smile! She was always willing to do whatever she could for anyone, expecting nothing in return. She was a mother to all. She loved the outdoors and spending time with family. If you knew Darlene and became close enough to call her a friend, you had a friend for life! She loved her children, each one held a special place in her heart. Her granddaughter, Bayley was the light of her life. They always say there is something special about your grandbabies, and that was definitely the case for her and Bayley. Darlene also worked for Tweetsie Railroad for over 20 years and was a loving caregiver and “daughter” to Barbara Simcox. Survivors include her mother, Gloria Taylor; partner, Charles Proffitt; four children, Tabitha Grindstaff and husband Jesse, Christopher Arnold, Tandy “Clyde” Williams, Woodrow Scott Orndorff III; bonus daughter, Elizabeth Grindstaff; sister, Michelle Salyer and husband Dennis; brothers, Preston Orndorff, Eddie “Bo” Taylor, Lance Taylor and wife Joan; five grandchildren, Bayley Williams, Sebastian Grindstaff, Hunter Williams, Dylan and Riley Alexander; nieces, Chanea Orndorff, Mirissia Burrell and husband Justin, Keishia Taylor, Shadow Cantrell and husband Cory, Katelyn Taylor and fiancé Brian Shelton; nephew, Joseph Orndorff; special friend and “sister”, Celeste Dunn; several great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7p.m. with Pastors Bill Morefield and Tim Furches officiating. The graveside service and burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Cornett Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Cornett, Jeremiah Burns, David Garland, Rick Grindstaff, Travis Grindstaff, Robbie Morefield, Kendall Cornett, and Brian Shelton. Honorary pallbearer is Tim Furches.
