Daren Scott Wright, age 40 of Mountain City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, July 13, 2020. Scott was born on January 5, 1980 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Robert Clifton Wright Jr. and Debbie Jean Lewis Wright. Scott cherished all the times spent with family and most of all loved to make them laugh. Aside from the love he had for his family, he enjoyed fishing, watching football, collecting model cars, and drinking beer. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Mary Wright; sons, Bradley Wright and fiancé Mikaela, Dakota Wright and fiancé Lauren; mother, Debbie Wright and fiancé James Pope; sister, Jennifer Minks and husband Jeff; brothers, Jerry Wright and wife Michele, Randy Wright and fiance Adrienne; grandchild, Camdyn Wright; nieces and nephews, Tequilla Wright, Samantha Ward, Kristina Wright, Chassidy Wright, Taylor Roark, Ashley Roark, Riley Roark, Tiffany Minks, Heather Minks, Megan Sedgwick, Jacob Wright, Kyndal Wright, Wyatt Wright, and Nate Reece. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Bowers officiating. Graveside service and burial will follow funeral at the Stateline Cemetery in Laurel Bloomery. Pallbearers will be Hunter Lewis, Chad Lewis, Mike Roark, Ricky Ollinger, Ronald Minks, and Greg Hayworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Minks, Austin Lewis, and Tommy Ward.
