Daniel Lee (Dan) Horne, Sr.

Daniel Lee Horne, Sr., age 90 of Mountain City, TN, passed away on Friday night, March 7, 2026 at his home. Dan was born on July 16, 1935 in Mountain City, TN to the late Arthur Worley Horne and Effie Belle Icenhour Horne. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ann Butler Horne, one son, Danny Horne, sisters, Ruth & Ruby Horne, Emma Walton and Juanita Tester, brothers, Linville Horne and Billy W. Horne, one grandson, Eric Horne.

Dan loved fishing, mowing and taking a daily car ride around the county. He retired from J&L Tire Company in P.A. Dan enjoyed family and his church family at Southside Freewill Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his children, Jeffrey Horne (Becky) of Mountain City, TN; Kimberly Horne (Alfredo) Cochranville, P.A., Kenneth Horne of Quarryville, P.A., Susan Townsend (Ed) of Wilmington, Del., Kathy Reburn (Saul) of Oxford, P.A., Carrie Thomson (Joe) of North East, MD; 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sister, Betty Canter; brothers, Robert C. Horne Sr., and Richard (Dick) Horne (Sally); special niece, Thelma Horne and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Berrey Dunn to officiate. A graveside service will immediately follow the funeral at Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
