Clara P. Gordon, age 91, passed away October 10, 2024 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Clara was born July 5, 1933 to the late Tom Webb Paschal Sr. and Erleen Eigner Paschal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Gordon; brothers, Tom Webb Paschal, Jr. and Asa Paschal; and sister, Maxine Paschal.
Clara was an incredible person with a huge heart. She served her country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era as well as her community as a Registered Nurse. Clara had an incredible sense of humor and could talk to anyone about anything. She had a wealth of wisdom and she was deeply spiritual. Clara stood apart from others in her ability to council and show support. She drew people to her even if they had never met her previously. Despite all her many accomplishments from her military service to earning her Master’s Degree in her 50s, Clara often said one thing she could not do was read a map.
Those left to cherish her memories include her partner, Cris Bartolomeo; sons, Jason Gordon and Joseph Gordon; daughter, Michelle Lomba; sister, Erleen Paschal; grandchildren, Nicole and Paulina Lomba; many nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friend and partner in crime, Terry Carroll.
A celebration of life service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.
A second celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Boone Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Mike Mathes officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hometown Service Coalition.
The family of Clara P. Gordon has entrusted her care to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S. Church Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
