Charles Oliver

Charles Fred Oliver, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Charles was born on June 23, 1950 to the late Fred and Lillie Oliver in Ashe County, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Burleson and niece, Amy Head. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army and was known as a hard worker. He enjoyed being outside, mowing, and old “muscle cars.” He was a very kind and generous man that would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his family, especially his grandkids. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Wanda Greer; daughters, Renea Stanbery and husband Chris, Ginger Burleson; grandchildren, Kirstin Davis, Dalton Stanbery, John Burleson, Shanelle Carson, Joseph Carson, Jacob Norris, Hollie Church; great grandchildren, Jayden Davis, Trenton Burleson, Dawson Burleson, Alayha Burleson, Jackson Church, Ava Church, Miley Church, Daniel Church; sister, Jane Head and husband Kenny, and brother, Kenneth Oliver and wife Debbie. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 with Rev. Leonard Fletcher officiating. The burial will follow the funeral at Norris Cemetery (Mae Tester Lane) with military honors by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Dalton Stanbery, Chris Stanbery, John Burleson, Rusty Davis, Jacob Norris, and Joseph Carson.
