Carol Geiger

Carol Elizabeth (Thon) Geiger, 67 of Shady Valley TN, tragically passed away on September 28, 2026 in a car accident.

Born on March 31 1959 in Illinois to Marlene and Ronald Thon, Carol grew up with a deep love for the outdoors and graduated from the University of Illinois after studying horticulture. Despite her small stature Carol was best known for her authenticity, commanding personality and her unwavering dedication to family, friends and her community.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Jack; children Maggie Geiger-Scotese, Sarah Geiger and John Geiger; siblings Brian Thon, Paula Thon, Kelly Thon and Michael Thon and their parents, Ronald and Marlene Thon.

A celebration of life was held at Backbone Rock on Friday October 2nd. A further celebration will be held in the spring near Chicago.
