Buddy “Bud” Campbell, age 43, of Shady Valley, TN went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, January 16, 2026 at his home. Buddy was born in Boone, NC to Jerry and Pat Erickson Campbell on June 15, 1982. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bud & Ruth Campbell, John & Gladys Erickson, aunt, Debbie Erickson, uncle, Earl Campbell.
Buddy loved hunting & fishing and going to car shows. He was a logger at Elwood Cretsingers sawmill in Shady Valley, TN; Buddy never knew a stranger and everyone that met him loved him.
Buddy is survived and missed by his loving parents, Jerry and Pat Campbell of Shady Valley, TN; brother, James “Pete” Peters (Angela) of Bristol, TN; one niece, Callie Peters, one nephew, Chance Peters also of Bristol, TN; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends also survive.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from Mountain City Funeral Home. The graveside service and burial will follow at the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens (Gentry Cemetery) with his uncle, Rick Campbell officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Elwood Cretsinger and Rick Campbell.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Shady Valley Fire Department % Conley Gentry 340 Walker Rd., Shady Valley, TN 37688.
At other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of his parents, 189 Niles Campbell Ln; Shady Valley, TN 37688.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to Shady Valley Fire Department, First Responders, Johnson County EMS and Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
