Bud Cullop

Bud Cullop, age 83, of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center.  He was born on October 26, 1935 to the late Bruce and Hattie Gallagher Cullop.  In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Gilbert and brothers, Mike Cullop, Gary Cullop, Bob Cullop and Rich Cullop.

Bud retired from Levi Strauss, where he worked in shipping and receiving.  

He was a member of Doe Valley Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Pat Cullop; sons, Randy Cullop of Kingsport, TN and Danny Cullop and wife Patsy of Mountain City, TN; step-daughter, Melissa Vanover and husband Wayne; step-son, Israel Stanton and wife DeAnne; sister, Lila Cook of Abingdon, VA; brother, Eddie Cullop and wife Jackie and Abingdon, VA; grandchildren, Shawna Cullop Thomason and husband Johnathan, Eric Cullop, Brandon Cullop, Amber Cullop; step grandchildren, Justin and Steven Vanover, Peyton, Blayke, Levi, Clay, and BreAnne Stanton; great granddaughter, Violet Elaine Thomason; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Pat Long, Gail Gambill and Betty Eller; special pet, Patches; and many, many more friends.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel.  Graveside service will immediately follow at the Phillippi Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Eric Cullop, Brandon Cullop, Brian Cullop, Doug Cullop, Charles Meadows, Bob Tillman, Joe Hill and Jeff Rupard.  Honorary pallbearers are Odell Johnson, Earl Davis, Pat Conville, Wayne Bray, Jim Darocha, Wayne ‘Woodcutter’ Reece, Bobby Dyson, Ralph Greer and Bruce Thrasher.

Per Bud’s request, in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Phillippi Cemetery, c/o Dinah Jeffries, 264 West Holy Hill Road, Mountain City, TN 37683

At other times the family will receive friends at the home 2101 Waters Road, Laurel Bloomery, TN.
