Brenda Tester

Brenda Sue Tester, age 65, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on May 21, 2026 at her childhood home surrounded by her loved ones. Brenda was born on December 20, 1960 to the late Rev. Bruce and Mae South. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jayden Kimble. Brenda was a devoted Christian who loved to attend service at her home church, Roan Creek Baptist Church. Brenda was a hard working nurse for 30 years and loved caring for those in need. Brenda had a gentle heart and a compassionate spirit for others. Brenda was also caring and loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and making memories. We will truly miss our mom, but we know she is in heaven worshiping the Lord and spending long lost time with her loved ones.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, April Kimble (John Younce), Audrey Vaught (Josh); son, Jeremy Tester; sister, Linda Allison (Dan); grandchildren, Hanna Sluder (Derrek), Jared Kimble, Bryson Kimble, Corey Kimble, Briley Vaught, Bentley Vaught, Gracie Isaacs and Sky Isaacs; great grandchildren, Luke Sluder, JT Kimble; special friends, Patty Greer and Sheila Arnold.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor David Hankal officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Cody Osborne, Josh Vaught, John Younce, Derrek Sluder, Bryson Kimble, and Wayne Vaught. Honorary pallbearers are Corey Kimble, Bentley Vaught, and Luke Sluder.
