Brenda Lewis

Brenda Boggs Lewis, age 73 of Shady Valley, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at her home. Brenda was born in Dalton, GA to the late Monroe Boggs and Frances Painter Boggs on April 19, 1947. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Bobby Hal Lewis on February 9, 2020. Also preceded was her sister, Kathy Boggs; and grandchild, Zoe Lewis Brenda was a teacher in Arizona, Mexico, Wyoming, Georgia, Virginia, and Johnson County, Tennessee for over 20 years and helped many people in our community as a career specialist at the Tennessee Department of Labor. She was a faithful member of Harmon Chapel Christian Church where she led the children’s church for over 20 years also. Brenda had a passion for gardening, crafting, cooking, reading and her grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memories include her son, Jeff Lewis and wife Maggie; step-sons, John Spurgeon and wife Crystal, James Spurgeon and wife Kim; sisters, Trishia Robinson and husband Jeff, Janey Lane and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Elijah, Izzy, Zane, Ezra, and Colin Lewis; and several step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Harmon Chapel Christian Church. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation with Minister Randle Johnson officiating. A graveside service and burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Blevins Cemetery in Shady Valley, TN. Pallbearers will be Todd Easton, Keith McParland, Danny McQueen, Danny Messimer, Ted Jackson, and John Cole. Friends and family may visit the home of Jeff Lewis, 146 David Blevins Lane, Shady Valley, TN 37688.
