Boyd Pardue

Thomas Boyd Pardue, age 70, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 22, 2019. Boyd was born on June 22, 1949 in Banner Elk, NC to Juanita Johnson Pardue and the late Charlie Pardue.  In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Hill and by a grandson, Zachory Hill.   Boyd was a truck driver for most of his life until his health declined and he was unable to drive anymore. He was a member of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #243 F&AM. Boyd was a member of Rainbow Baptist Church.   Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Cress Pardue, daughters, Amanda Laws and husband David, Tammy Glastord and companion Ruben Castillo; grandchildren, Nathan, Markcus, LaShay and Tristan; great grandchildren, Bentley, Hunter and Bailey; sisters, Charlotte Hammons and husband Glenn, Betty Cornett and husband Danny; brother, David Pardue and wife Donna, several nieces, nephews, cousins and Boyd’s many friends also survive.   The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor’s Frank Woods and Teddy Lewis to officiate. Masonic Rites by Taylorsville Masonic Lodge. Graveside Service and burial will follow the funeral service at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Greg Poe to officiate. Pallbearers are Danny Cornett, Dick Stout, Terry Pardue, Raymond Cress, Glenn Cress and Tony Jennings.  Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Hammons, Ruben Castillo, David Laws, Tony Huffman, Harry Green, Ronnie Arnold, Barton Hall, Jeff Nelson, Jim Moody, Jerry Horne and Mike Dickens.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.   The family would like to express the sincere thanks and appreciation to all the staff with Amedysis along with Dr. Savage and staff with the Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.   At other times the family will receive friends at the home 292 Hampton Street, Mountain City, TN 37683   Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com   The family of Boyd Pardue has entrusted his services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S.
