Billy Ray Rash, age 86, of Trade Tennessee, passed away November 25, 2022. Billy Ray was born on February 14, 1936 in Trade, TN, to the late Rev. Ernest and Ruth Rash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Poe and her husband Roy; brother, Rev. J. D. Rash and his wife, Joyce; nephew, Jeff Poe and niece, Susan Mast Long. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years Shirley Wallace Rash; children; Shirlene Pardue (Bob), Karen Davenport, Mary Ann Muse (Bill), James Rash and Rachel Rash; grandchildren, Becky Bonsor (T.J.), Holly Eastridge (David), Jacob Rash, Lauren and Leeann Crosswhite; great-grandchildren, Chase, Timothy, Paxton, Declan, Lathen and Zachariah; sisters, Mary Greene (Pat), Margaret Mast (Eugene); many loved nieces and nephews. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the many neighbors and friends that took time to help on his farm during his time of illness. Every phone call, card, and word of encouragement meant so much. Most importantly, we express thanks for the many prayers during this difficult time. We also appreciate the love and care he received from the staff of Ballad Health and Johnson County EMS. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Brother Tony Potter and Brother Derrick Wilson officiating. Leeann Crosswhite and Bob Pardue will also be speaking on behalf of Billy Ray and Family. A military graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be loved neighbors and friends. The family would like to invite you to Drake’s Creek Road in Trade around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, before the visitation as Billy Ray will be traveling the road to his home in his pick-up truck, back to where his journey began.
