John 14:1-3 KJV “Let not your heart be troubled…”
On Saturday, November 8, 2025, Billy Joe Lambert was called home to rest with the Lord at the age of 58. Billy Joe was born August 24, 1967, the fourth child of Troy Lambert and Arbeulah (Trivette) Lambert. In addition to his parents, Billy Joe had grieved the loss of his twin grandsons, Porter Blake Lambert and Everette James Lambert in December 2024.
Billy Joe attended Little Milligan Elementary throughout his elementary years. He had worked various jobs in the manufacturing industry and for a long while he had worked with his family in the produce industry. From an early age Billy Joe was part of the family mercantile store in the Poga Community and learned about fresh fruits and vegetables, but moreover he learned how to approach customers and make sure they were happy with their purchases.
Billy Joe had a kind heart and a generous spirit. He was in his last remaining days on earth, a solider for the Lord and he tried daily to introduce and bring people to the Lord. He was a member of Piney Grove Church of Christ, but would often go with his sister, Velma and husband George, to Meadowview Baptist Church. He had a thirst for learning more about Christ and leading whomever he could in the way of God.
Billy Joe had an easy way of talking to anyone and loved with his entire being. His heart was so soft and tender; he would always root for the underdog and cry for the brokenhearted. If he had something and anyone was in need of it, he would give it willingly and without praise and do without himself.
Billy Joe is carried in the hearts of his children, Kenneth “Kenny” Lambert of Elizabethton and his mother, Carnella Odom Matney; Lindsey Lambert of Knoxville, Tim Lambert (Bella) of Johnson City and their mother, Lori Potter; his grandson and pride and joy, Stetson Lane Lambert; sisters, Velma Bunton (George) of Butler, TN and Jackie Greene of Flat Springs, NC; brother, Troy “TJ” Lambert of Poga, TN; special friends, R.L. and Paulette Hartley, Blake Hartley, Jody Hartley, Joe Miller, Billy Dugger, Cody Hartley; several nieces, nephews, church family, and neighbors also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Abe Trivette Cemetery on Poga Rd. with Minister Dean Estep and Preacher Charlie Trivette to officiate. Pallbearers will be Cody Hartley, Bill Dugger, Blake Dugger, Tim Lambert, Jack Potter, and Austin Potter. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Lambert, Joe Miller, and Johnny Blevins.
The family of Billy Joe Lambert has entrusted his services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S. Church Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
