Barbara Shupe

Barbara Shupe, age 91, of Butler, TN, passed away June 9, 2026 at her home. Barbara was born June 3, 1935 to the late Frank and Alice Shupe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her sisters, Emaline Shupe Nichols, Janet Shupe Rupard and brothers, Jim Shupe, Marshall Shupe, Frankie Shupe, Glen Shupe and Mitchell Shupe.

Barb was a simple, quiet, gentle lady who was like a mother to everyone and dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She was a 1954 graduate of Johnson County High School. She worked most of her life at Leco and later spent several years at Levi Strauss. She eventually retired from the food service department at the Johnson County School System. She always kept a smile on her face and was instantly loved by anyone who had the honor of meeting her. She met many special friends throughout her life and was a very special sister in law to all her extended family. She was a member of Little Doe Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her brother, Benny Shupe and wife Mary; sisters-in-law, Wanda Shupe of Butler, TN, Elwanda Shupe of Johnson City, TN; several special nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, cousins and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Phillippi Cemetery.
