Barbara Rainbolt, age 65, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at her home. She was born August 15, 1961 to the late Gertrude Gilley. In addition to her mother, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Rainbolt.
Barbara was a very loving and supportive mother and grandmother who was always there for her family. Her advice to all, which was on a sign in her kitchen, was to always stay humble and kind. She had a heart of gold and could make you smile in any situation. She loved being at home, especially while outside watching the birds and animals, working in her garden, or any other outdoor activities. Barbara also enjoyed reading, crafting, and thrifting. She was an avid collector of Coca-Cola and chickens. Her favorite memories included her trips to Lancaster to the Amish country where she appreciated their culture and ways of life. Barbara remained steadfast in her faith in Jesus Christ throughout her life.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Eric Watson (Chrystal); grandchildren, Austin Watson (Hannah), Dominic Watson (Haley), and Preston Watson; great-grandchildren, Jackson James Watson, Cash Watson, Riah Rish, and Hudson Rish; sisters, Eva Price and Joann Stanton; brothers, Jimmy Widener and Josh Gilley; several nieces and nephews; friend and mother of her grandchildren, Crystal Watson.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Toby Rainbolt officiating.
