Albert Dean Gryder

Albert Dean Gryder, age 79, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Watauga Medical Center. He was born on June 20, 1942 in Banner Elk, North Carolina to the late James Rufus Gryder and Mary Dotson Gryder. He worked as an electronic engineer at Grumman AeroSpace. Al loved his country and was proud to have served in the United States Navy. To those who knew him best knows of his humor, telling of jokes and seeing things on the lighter side. Al was an advocate for all animals. He served as Animal Control officer for the Town of Mountain City for approximately 2 years. Al is survived by his loving wife of 54 years (would have been 55 yrs. on December 11), Joyce Pauline (Pant) Gryder; loving daughter, Annette Sepega and special grand-dog, Willa. Per Al’s wishes no formal service will be held. Memorials may be made to the Johnson County Humane Society for Spay and Neuter, P.O. Box 307, Mountain City, TN 37683.
