Robert D. 'Bob' Ward

Robert D."Bob" Ward, age 61 of Mountain City, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010 at his residence. He was born on August 22, 1948 to the late Robert Dana Ward and Bonnie Potter Ward. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Bob was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church. The joy of his life was his wonderful daughter, his Lord, and loved to read the bible. Bob is survived by his loving daughter, Tierra Ward of Mountain City, five sisters, Kathy Morefield and husband Billy of Mountain City, Gladys Smith of Portsmouth Va., Gay Ward and husband Roger of Elizabethton, Shirley Neatherly and Amy Ward of Kingsport; brother Tracy Ward and wife Sandy of Laurel Bloomery; special nephew Clark Ward of Laurel Bloomery; several other nieces and nephews; and the mother of his daughter, Nicole Summerow. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 19, 2010 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. from Mountain City Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Preacher Billy Morefield to officiate. Pallbearers will be Roger Lambert, Steve Mann, Billy Morefield, Benny Rupard, Hunter Buchanan and Michael Blevins. Honorary pallbearers will be Clark Ward and his many special friends. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Dyson Grove Cemetery. The family will also receive friends at the home of his sister, Kathy Morefield, 617 Hospital Hill Lane, Mountain City or his brother, Tracy Ward, 7530 Highway 91 N., Laurel Bloomery.
