Wiley Boyd Wiley Boyd, age 86, of 919 Medical Park Drive and 1366 Miningtown Road, Mountain City, TN, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton, TN. Wiley was preceded in death by his first wife, Belva Brooks Boyd; his daughters, Laverne Lane and Linda Adams, son Dwayne Boyd, a brother Bobby Lee Boyd and an infant sister. Wiley was a native of the Dante community in Russell County, Virginia and was a son of the late Lurty Albert Boyd and Laura Morefield Boyd. He had retired after working 26 years as a coal miner, was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church and liked to work with wood. He was a U. S. Army Veteran. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Nancy Brown Boyd; two sons, Oliver Boyd and Marty Boyd of Virginia; stepdaughters, Phyllis Lehman and Charlene Fredell of Mountain City and Nancy Louise Jones of Butler, TN; a brother, Glenn Boyd of Castlewood, VA, a sister Juanita Brumlow, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Leonard Fletcher and Rev. John Wesley Price, Jr. officiating. The graveside and burial service will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lowe, Eric Lowe, Paul Lunsford, Louis White and Randall Jones. Friends may also call at the residence, 1366 Miningtown Road, Mountain City, TN 37683 at any time.
