Joe Rufo

Joseph "Joe" Rufo, Jr., age 78, of Reece Ave. Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at his residence, following an extended illness. Joe was born on January 7, 1933 to the late Joseph and Lizzie Bates Rufo in Pittsfield, MA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his youngest son, Anthony, and his brother, David. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Barbara Fuller Rufo; his children: Victoria, Valerie, and Joseph III; grandchildren: April, Jeromey, Timothy, Jason, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Caleb, Zachary, and Jessica; great-grandchildren: Bradley, Dakota, Matthew, Amanda, Amber, Rosemary, Kyra, Isabella, Sabrina, Chase and Jesse; a brother, Paul; sister, JoAnne and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the funeral home with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm from the chapel of Mountain City Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Drake to officiate. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Jennifer Reece. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be grandsons. In lieu of flowers, at Joe's request, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at P.O.
