Wade McQueen

Wade McQueen, age 62, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the VA Medical Center Nursing Home. He was born August 18, 1949 in Johnson County to the late Joe McQueen and Opal Lowe McQueen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Leah McQueen, who passed away on April 5, 2010. Wade served in the United States Navy and was known for the charolais cattle that he raised. He also enjoyed farming and the outdoors. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Wade was a member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church. Mr. McQueen is survived by daughter, Mollie McQueen of Butler, TN; a sister, Wanda Robinson and husband Fred of Butler, TN; several nieces and nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012 at Cobbs Creek Baptist Church with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Alan Koch and Pastor Sammy Icenhour officiating. Inurnment will follow from Butler Memorial Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Robinson, George Robinson, Bill Pilkton, Jason McQueen and Junior McQueen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cobbs Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 150 Church Street, Butler, TN 37640. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Wanda Robinson, 408 Copley Branch Road, Butler, TN. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mountaincityfuneralhome.com .
