Martha Ann Miller Wood

Ann, age 88, was received in the arms of Jesus December 31, 2011. Ann was born July 30, 1923 to the late Floyd and Lottie Miller in Shulls Mills, North Carolina. Ann married Samuel "Edd" Wood December 27, 1947. They lived their lives in Mountain City, Tennessee and have resided in Bristol, Tennessee since 2007. Ann retired after many years as a bookkeeper for Ramsey Variety Stores. She was a member of Mountain City Presbyterian Church. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Clyde Miller and Arlie Miller, sisters Blanche Morefield and Loretta Poole. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 64 years, Edd Wood, son, Ronald Wood (Tammy) of Liberty Hill SC; daughter, Ava Wood Dresser (Harry) Bristol TN; two grandchildren, Zachary Dresser, Rebekah Dresser Deahl and one great granddaughter, Ava Grace Dresser Deahl. She is also survived by two nieces and two nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at Mountain City Funeral Home at 2:00pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2012 with David Bentley and Jim Swoager to officiate. Music will be provided by Sherry Tester and Fred Ramsey. Visitation will occur between 1:30-2:00 pm prior to the funeral. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Wayne Bryant, Zachary Dresser, Jason Deahl, Josh Ball, Josh Bentley and William McGlamery. Honorary Pallbearers are Doran Swift and Norman Tester. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorials be sent to Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, TN 37620 where tender loving care was given in her final days.
