Nancy Slemp

Nancy Louise May-Slemp, age 67, of Trade, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 9, 2013. She was born on January 7th, 1946 to the late Riley Grady may and Vergie Mae Reece May. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Lester P. May. Nancy loved her Lord and Savior and tried to live each day serving him and doing his will. She loved to cook and take care of her family, whom she loved very much. She was a member of Locust Gap Freewill Baptist Church but attended Faith Gospel Church, where her husband pastored. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Pastor Charles Ray Slemp; sons: Terry Ray Slemp and fiancé Amber Stout and Charles Allen Slemp, all of Trade, TN; daughters: Angela Wannell Slemp of Trade, TN, Linda Louise Slemp of Mountain City, TN and Selina Mae Tina' Slemp-Hodge and husband Trampass of Elizabethton, TN; grandchildren: Delainee Mae Huff-Slemp, Manasa and Charlie Slemp; Alex Slemp, Jocelyn and Jamie Michael, Jorrian Carroll, Ronnie Pilgrim, Jaida Walters, Britney and Hunter Hodge; sisters: Margaret Pat' Woods, Linda P-Nut' Moretz and husband Dana, Polly Johnson and husband Mike, Norma Cricket' Newsome and husband Bill; several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Shannon Courtner and Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. Special Music will be provided by the Faith Gospel Church Singers. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Slemp Cemetery, located on Slemp Branch Road. Pallbearers will be Terry Slemp (son), Allen Slemp (son), Ronnie Pilgrim (grandson), Darrell Reece, Ricky May and Bobby Reece. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home 2485 Bulldog Road, Trade, TN.
