Barbara Hedges Bishop

Barbara Hedges Bishop, age 69, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on July 19, 1944 to the late Cleo and Goldie Clark Hedges. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded death by an infant son, Cleo M. Bishop; a brother, Richard Hedges and a nephew, Jimmy Fettenger. Barbara was a Home Health Care Nurse for Signature Health. She was a very outgoing person who loved to spend time with her family and friends. Barbara also enjoyed reading, traveling, watching movies and spending time outdoors. She is survived by her son, Steven Bishop and fiancé Barbara Norton; former husband, Steve Bishop; sisters: Eulah Dearing and Ema May Winn; several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Minister Howard Taylor to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Blevins Cemetery. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
